Other Work
This is a collection of other work that I've done in my free time, freelance, and from university.
Chimera XV
Publication Design, 2018
Chimera is an annual student run publication that features artwork and prose from Edinboro University students. For this issue, Memphis design and patterns were used as the inspiration, theme, and tone for the publication. Five smaller bundles were inset within the book as well, in order to create a unique experience for the viewer and to emphasize the literature portion of Chimera. I was a designer on this project, assisting with designing multiple spreads and getting the publication ready for print.
The publication did win the 2019 National Program Directors' Design Award from Association of Writers & Writing Programs.
"Chimera is an eclectically beautiful presentation of poetry, prose and visual art. Aesthetically pleasing, the entire publication is a delightful representation of its name – Chimera – incongruous pieces presented in a very imaginative way."
Chipotle Annual Review
Publication Design, 2018
This was a final project from university. This is an annual report that was created for Chipotle. Using elements from their brand standards and information from previous annual reports, I created a physical publication featuring unique paper stock, hand written typographical treatments, illustration, and unique spread designs/functionality.
Bethany Outreach Center
Branding, 2018
This was part of a rebranding project for a real client in my university's design practicum course. Bethany Outreach Center is a volunteer center to help those in Erie, PA. They primarily help Erie's lower east side neighborhood by providing services and teaching skills to underserved families that will lead them to a path of positive life change. They wanted a whole rebranding. My logo/rebranding was picked out of the class to be used by Bethany Outreach Center. Their previous branding was cold and dark, even though they were trying to show a message of hope and positivity. I updated the logo and colors and created a unique, modern logo and branding materials for Bethany Outreach Center.
Central PA Handyman
Branding, 2020
This was a freelance project for a new handyman company located in Harrisburg, PA. They wanted a modern logo and branding. I wanted to make sure to do something more geometric, clean looking. Based off of my initial research for concepts, many handyman logos felt heavy, masculine. I wanted to keep this looking as neutral as possible, and lighter with the design. I wanted any of person to contact this company for all of their handyman needs.
Willow Grouse Coffee House
Branding, Packaging Design, 2020
house came from the idea of Finnish coffee culture. Finland is the number one country in the world that consumes coffee. The average amount of coffee consumption per Finn is 2.64 cups a day. The amount and frequency of coffee drinkers in Finland was astounding, so I wanted to take that idea and create a coffee house brand.
The logo is inspired by the Willow Grouse itself. The bird resides in Northern and Central parts of Finland. One of its most distinct features is the red semicircular comb above each eye. Along with the logo, there was some packaging design concepts for possible coffee packs, including a to-go option. These packs are based off of the times during the day when the Finns drink their coffee; morning, noon, and night.
Illustration Work
Illustration, 2018-Present
This is a collection of illustration work I've done over the years. I'm always interested in trying new styles and exploring more ways to incorporate illustration into my work.
